Many health facilities in our rural communities are either substandard/outdated or in a state of disrepair. Many of these facilities lack basic infrastructure like portable water and adequate power supply. This has greatly affected both the quality and quantity of services available to our women and children in such facilities.
Our aim here is to ensure that our women and children receive the best quality of care possible and in a timely manner. To make this possible, we upgrade the facilities that need an upgrade, renovate those that need a face-lift and also equip them. We provide basic amenities like pipe born water, an adequate power supply as well as medical supplies.
We work in conjunction with other stakeholders in the health sector including government and non-governmental agencies in order to achieve our objectives.
Already, in conjunction with one of our partners, Global One (a UK based charity), LHF has renovated maternity wards in Rimi basic health care center (BHC) and Magami primary health care center (PHC); both under Sumaila LGA under Wudil Zone in Kano, a state in northern Nigeria. These facilities were renovated, upgraded, and adequately equipped to enhance the effectiveness of care rendered to women and babies. Medical supplies were also provided.
Currently, we need donations from philanthropic organizations both in and outside Nigeria to enable us do more.
